Cumin Seed
Market stable in the last weeks. No significant changes to report.

Anise Seed
Turkey out of the market with very high price levels. This situation will continue due to regular domestic demand and low crop quantity this season in Turkey.

Fennel Seed
Slowly on the rise as raw material left in the local market is getting less and this has reflected in the price levels with an increase of 10% in the last 2 months.

Blue Poppy Seed
Steady, no change for Blue. White and Yellow has always been expesive from Turkey due to low crop quantity each season.

Fennugreek Seeds
Not available anymore. Crop was very limited and this product becomes more and more of less interest for farmers to cultivate. Competition with Indian Fennugreek and Turkish Fennugreek is somewhat different in taste / colour. Much importers seems to prefer the Indian origin.

Sesame Seeds
Stable for the time being. Most of the time a rise in price level toward the 2nd half of the seasonafter March / April.

Sage
Different qualities available in the market. Only a good representive sample will do and a check about the Volatile Oil levels of the Sage is often given a good indication about the quality of the product.

Laurel Leaves
Very firm these days and most exporters are admitting that raw material available in local market is less. We predict prices will continue to stay firm untill new crop 2006, only availble in September. We kindly would like to remind buyers that there are unfortunately exporters offering adulturated material ( expecially for the Cut and Sifted qualities ), mixed up with the so called `Mersin Leaves`. This may give significant changes in price levels. Adulturated material available between prices at US$ 1.300 – 1.800,-- !!! Only a proffesional eye and lab-test may see and recognise the adulturation. Please contact us for additional info on this subject.
