General Outlook

July 21, 2004

Market in general quiet.

Cumin Seeds somewhat weaker due to no demand at these high price levels. Buyers are purchasing what is needed. True, the yield of the crop in Turkey and Syria is lower then last season. However we might see a downwards trend if demand from abroad is not picking up in the coming weeks.

Anise seeds slightly changed but firm due to lower yield of crop comparing with last year. Expecting market to rise further in the coming months.

Blue Poppyseeds very firm. This all due that much lower quantity has been cultivated this season in Turkey. Also international market firm due to bad crop results in Australia which will for sure effect the price from Turkey.

New Crop Sage and Oregano coming out at the moment. It is very hard to say how price levels will move in the coming weeks. Further there is a large range of different qualities. Please contact us for more info about this.
