None or little movements in price-levels for the Turkish Seeds
:
Anis Seed somewhat firmer due to stronger
demand in domestic market by the `Turkish Raki` producers.
We forsee Anise to stay on stable levels and slighly upwards
in the months to come.
Cumin very stable from Turkey but
still difficult to sell by exporters due to lower price-levels
below $ 1700 for Syrian Origin.
Blue Poppy steady. White Poppy firm,
prices can fluctuate strongly during the season as largly
depending on Indian buyers who are a strong buyer of Turkish
White Poppy seeds.
Laurel Leaf price have been firming
up in the last 2 weeks. Prices in the domestic market for
the raw material has increased. The demand for especially
lower grades like FAQ is high from especially the Far East
( Hong Kong ). We expect prices to stay firm during the whole
season and do not forsee an price-decrease. New crop Laurel
Leaves only in September 2005, a long time to go. Hand Selected
grades at steady levels as demand for these grades by buyers
is decreasing each season.
Oregano available and most raw material
in hands of exporters who are trying to sell and looking for
better and higher price levels if possible. However, the demand
is not as expected and buyers are buying what is needed. Prices
for good nice fancy grades somewhat firmer as also the weak
US$ against the Euro is not in favour for the final US$ export
prices. We expect prices to circle around above FOB levels
untill the end of this year.
Pure Sage ( Salvia Triloba ) from Turkey
is scarce and price levels are high. Lower grades might be
offered but this is not the real Turkish Sage `Salvia Triloba`.
Buyers should be carefull when purchasing. There might be
a huge difference in quality and V.O. levels. New crop only
in July 2005, expecting 1st grade product to be sold out soonest.
Capers steady in prices with weak
market for larger sizes Fines, Capote and Capucines.
